Hi. My name’s Eugene Harnett.. . Three years ago, I took a course delivered by one of the greatest hypnotist alive today.. It was a 4-day course in not only hypnotism, but self-affirmation and developing the power of one’s mental framework.

Well, the first time at the seminar, I did go up on stage to be part of the group getting hypnotized. You gotta believe me something, it is not what you think…

What Hypnotism Is Not

It is not losing your awareness, or being completely overtaken by another’s commands. It is not some blind trance. Honestly speaking, I found my mind to be completely alert the whole time. Yet. I was being hypnotized. You see, what I figured out about being hypnotized – something that’s been confirmed through several more experiences and the training I got – it’s a matter of letting go of my subjectivity and allowing my mind to accept the commands of another person… It’s following those commands, because I decided to follow them.

You see, hypnotism is not complete negation of my mind or of my power to control myself. It is, instead, a conscious giving of that control to another trusted individual. The key word is “trusted.” I allow someone else my complete confidence. My mind is “sold” on their messages to me.

Why I Built this Hypnotism Website

I hope to share some insights here on this website… about hypnotism… Especially about using hypnotic techniques to move and persuade others. You see, I am in the business of educating and motivating others, leading others in various organizations I’m involved in. And, I realized that, over the years, I have been so-called “hypnotized” by my leaders in certain beliefs and confidences that I grew to accept.

When I look back, it was like I was “hypnotized” by the leaders and elder figures in my life. Not in a bad way, mind you. In a good way… And, now… well, I am a leader, too. I need to move others to take certain directions and to adopt certain operations in various organizations I’m in. By understanding that not only is my message important, but my messaging… HOW I deliver my message. WHAT I’m saying…. And the WORDS I use to convey my message… ALL this is part of what could be termed “disguised” hypnotism.

Conversational Hypnotism

I’ve heard it called “covert” hypnotism. Or my favorite, “conversational” hypnotism. .. because it occurs within conversation… it doesn’t sound contrived. It is natural talking… And yet, it has a definite direction or purpose, with a clear desired outcome, or set of actions that are sought to be taken.

Covert hypnotism is helping others get the feeling that what you want them to do is really their own desire and for their own best interests. In fact, it is a win-win situation… that’s the final thing I want to say about this type of hypnotism… It has to be done with a benefit for all parties involved… In cannot be done without all benefiting from it. This is critical in your thinking, otherwise “conversational” hypnotism is untenable… meaning, it wont’ work.
